The market researchers of Mercury Research have the market for Main-board-chip-corrode examined. Therefore Intel in the second quarter removed and lies its projection/lead further with a market share of 62,3 per cent far forwards nVidia (14.9%). VIA occupied with 11% the third place, AMD still market share comes on 9,2%. SiS (2.1%) and ServerWorks (0.4%) round the list off.
Intel increased its market share in the comparison to the last year by 4,8 per cent. Also nVidia something could add: plus 2,8%. VIA, AMD and SiS had to deliver against it between 1,5 and 3,4 per cent market shares.
Mercury Research determined also separate market numbers for AMD and Intel platforms. On AMD basis nVidia with 62,2 per cent market share is far in front. AMD occupies place 2 (23.8%). VIA market share can still keep up with 9,8%, while SiS fell proper: of 8,7% in the last year on now only 2.4%.
Intel dominates naturally its own platform. With 83 per cent market share one is appropriate for AMD/ATI (4.9%) far forwards VIA (9.4%) and. nVidia here market share lies even still behind SiS with only 0.6% (2.1%).
