One of the new features of the Radeon hp 2000 series and concomitantly the ATI Radeon hp 2900 XT diagram map was summarized by AMD under the term “Avivo hp”. Some of it is the “Unified video decoder” (UVD), which is to reduce the CCU load clearly when playing High definition video. Which only became now correctly clear: those so far as the only Radeon hp 2000 series available diagram map, the 2900 XT, does not possess the UVD.

However we could be led here like many different also on the ice, because the remarks of AMD are in this regard not wrong, but nevertheless somewhat imprecise. That applies also to the information on the Website of AMD. There on the one hand with the specifications of the ATI Radeon hp 2900 XT are referred as feature “Avivo hp” specified, on the other hand with the explanation of Avivo hp to “Smooth hp video Playback with UVD”, what implies that the UVD part of Avivo hp and thus the ATI Radeon hp is 2900 XT.
