Asus Z53J

Achievement fullly for the friends of the fast computer game. ATI Radeon X1700 and 2 GHz dual core make steam and produce a nearly perfect Gamer Notebook.

The Asus Z53J of the F3-Serie belongs to the highest performance devices of the Notebook Schmiede from Taiwan, at least which concerns the middle price segment. For up-to-date zirka 1400 EUR one receives a play-suited Notebook, which can take up it with nearly each current 3D-Shooter - if it runs under Windows Vista. In conformity with Intel the Core-2-Duo (Mobile-T7200 with 2 GHz) brings the ATI-Radeon-Mobility-X1700 each software to running. That will make the Gamer happy. Behind the CCU the Centrino technology of Intel by the way hides itself.

We threw a first view of the equipment. Optically Asus does not bring us innovations, but familiarly on the typical silver-black Look. A noble Notebook does not become therefore from it, but seeming is nevertheless solid. Even if I take the Z53J then into the hands, then the impression is confirmed: The housing is torsionally stiff and the surface touches itself pleasantly rau, but not blunt. Unfortunately the robustness does not apply to the display. If I move the two upper corners, twists itself the display framework, which is to be recognized by the sides of the TFT surface. Admitted, for a Desktop Replacement does not play a role, but in Punkto robustness is that one point of minus.

Here is noticeable to us: The LEDs for non removable disk or number block activity (NumLock) are under the black hole plastic, which takes off also the loudspeakers. Whom always disturbed the constantly flashing LEDs under the TFT, which surely lucky that will make. The others however, which want always visibly to have their non removable disk activity, will only have themselves to accustom to it.

The “Color Shine Glare type” technology seems to have become generally accepted among the product developers. That is much for the disappointment of some Notebookfans, which call this phenomenon „making up mirror epidemic “. For the sake of the Fairness must be said, not each reflecting TFT resembles the other one, finally put behind different technologies.

This calls Sony „X-Black “, other “Glare type” and Asus “Color Shine Glare”. The user has the agony of the choice. A shine-strong, high-contrast, but more or less reflecting display or an almost mirror-free however more contrast-poorer. The Asus Z53J is definitely a play Notebook and as such must it to simply brilliante colors bring. In addition Game sessions take place nearly always inside and with artificial lighting. The decision for the “Glare type” is thus justified.
