Asus Xonar D2 and D2X

If one wants to use the sound-technical possibilities of current plays fully, one hardly comes around around a Creative Soundcard. The competition is very small apart from some Onboard solutions. Asus wants to scratch now at this monopolistic position and points therefore to the CeBIT two new sound maps: Xonar D2 and Xonar D2X. The latter represents the Top model and creates during the sound rendition a signal-to-noise ratio of 118 decibels, with the admission of 115 decibels.

The D2X was equipped with two music processors, about which converting from music files into other formats makes as for example MP3 or WMA possible. In addition both maps can show a certificate for the standards Dolby digital, Dolby live one, DTS, DTS 5,1 as well as DTS Connect. Where exactly the differences between the two maps do not lie are clear so far yet – concerning the price differ the models however in each case.
In addition Asus stressed that it will give always current and high-quality drivers, under it also such starting from the Launch of the sound maps for Windows Vista. When exactly the sound maps on the market to come to be supposed and which they will cost, is so far not yet well-known. Much time might not offense up to the introduction on the market however any longer. Then even if the software should be correct beside the hardware, the Asus Soundcard would be a serious competition to Creatives X-Fi-series.
