AMD price reductions

As expected AMD communicated today new processor prices, which are partly clearly settled under the past level. In addition, the conversions were as expected clearly under the prognoses. Thus the truth of the old proverb shows up here “a Freud, other wrong”. Because while the customers can look forward to partly almost halved processor prices, the numbers communicated today might excite concern with the investors rather.

Instead of the focused 1.6 to 1.7 billion the incomes were appropriate for US Dollar only with approximately 1.225 billion. As reasons in particular problems within the Resale range are called. As reaction to these lean numbers the enterprise wants to go back its investments for 2007 around approximately 500 million US Dollar, which is to mean however no dismantling of jobs. New employments are to be reduced however to critical ranges. The enterprise wants to let further explanations follow on 19 April on a conference.
The customers however can look forward to a new price list for processors. This applies above all the 90nm-CPUs, which becomes more favorable on average a third.
The price reduction is particularly clear with the dual core Athlon 64 X2 6000+, which with acceptance of 1.000 pieces only 241 as before 459 US Dollar costs. In addition, in 65nm-Technologie manufactured processors are affected by the lowerings, these become over up to 38 per cent more favorable.
